FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Central Coast, CA – December 19, 2022 – Veronica Garcia, Chief Real Estate Development Officer of People’s Self-Help Housing (PSHH), has joined the Board of Directors for the regional advocacy group: Southern California Association of Nonprofit Housing (SCANPH).
At PSHH, Veronica oversees all aspects of design, finance and construction of affordable homeownership and rental housing development. With over fifteen years of experience in affordable housing and community development, she will bring a wealth of experience to her board service with SCANPH.
Prior to working at PSHH, she developed affordable housing for Wakeland Housing, the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura, Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation, and AMCAL Multi-Housing Inc.. Veronica is committed to advancing housing opportunity that is out of reach for low-income and underserved communities.

As well as SCANPH, Veronica is currently on the board of the California Coalition for Rural Housing and serves her community as a Planning Commissioner for Ventura County’s 5th District. Veronica completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles and is an alumna of the CORO Fellowship in Public Affairs.
The mission of SCANPH is to facilitate development of affordable homes across southern California by advancing effective public policies, sustainable financial resources, strong member organizations, and beneficial partnerships. While their emphasis is on strengthening nonprofit developers, they support all members who share a long-term commitment on improving communities through quality affordable housing. SCANPH focuses on economically-disadvantaged individuals and families who are most in need of affordable housing.
