Position Description: Fiscal Technician

The Fiscal Technician performs clerical and technical accounting duties requiring training and experience with nonprofit fund accounting for the Allan Hancock College Foundation, a non-for-profit organization that raises funds and builds community support to meet the needs of Allan Hancock College in the areas of scholarships, capital/infrastructure projects, and program support.

This is a full-time position (37 hours/week) and eligible for the benefits provided by the Allan Hancock College Foundation. Though the Foundation office is located on the college campus, this is not a position at Allan Hancock College and does not have access to the benefits offered by the college district.

The Fiscal Technician is responsible for technical accounting and other clerical duties that requires a working knowledge of subject matter, regulations, and nonprofit fund accounting functions. The successful applicant will perform a substantial amount of detailed accounting work and is required to understand and apply Foundation and college policies and regulations. The Fiscal Technician has a high frequency of interaction with Foundation board of directors, college staff, students, donors, and the general public, which requires professionalism, confidentiality and excellent communication skills. The position also monitors the day-to-day accounting activities of the Foundation office.  The employee must be competent in accounting software and contemporary computer technology to support the operations of the Foundation.
