Direct Support Professional III

LOCATION: Santa Barbara

HOURS: Mon- Fri 8am- 4:30pm

JOB TYPE: Full Time

$17 ‒ $19 Hourly

Up to $750 Sign-On Bonus

Momentum WORK, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional III in Santa Barbara, CA. Direct Support Professional responsibilities include exhibiting compassion, supporting participants, and ensuring a safe environment. They foster independence and personal choice by guiding individuals in acquiring necessary skills, such as social behavior or interpersonal competence so individuals have greater self-reliance in their day-to-day lives.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of a behavioral support plan designed to meet the individual emotional, personal, physical, and social needs of participant served.
• Assist individual with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, paying bills, etc.
• Develops and implements an individualized program specific to the person receiving one-on-one support.
• Must be willing to work one-on-one with an individual on an ongoing basis.
• Must be willing to work one-on-one with an individual who demonstrates challenging and/or aggressive behaviors.
• Must be willing to assist with hygiene care.
• Maintains accurate and current records such as daily participant documentation.
• Monitors, tracks, and assists program participant in goal achievement.

Qualifications:

• Valid CA Driver’s License
• At least (1) year of experience working with persons with developmental and/or other disabilities in individual and/or group settings preferred.
• Reliable vehicle and valid vehicle insurance
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical and background check clearance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Patience, compassion and respect for persons with disabilities
• Ability to demonstrate patience and understanding.
• Must have a reliable cell phone.
• Ability to go up and down stairs.
