Job Title: HOUSE MANAGER, RESIDENTIAL


Under the direct supervision of the Residential Director, this position is responsible for the implementation of Individual Service Plans that will lead to or continue to promote independence, residential and personal skills and assist in providing a safe and secure home environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Hires, trains, supervises, and coaches residential direct care staff
  • Monitors and evaluates residential staff performance
  • Schedules shifts for residential homes
  • Attends weekly management meetings, maintains office days at residential homes
  • Conducts staff/resident meetings, reviews/approves timecards
  • Reviews, monitors, and records the administration/distribution, reordering of medications
  • Prepares seizure logs, incident, medical appt./medication, and quarterly reports
  • Maintains residents’ ledgers and files in compliance with TCRC & CCL
  • Provides individualized instruction in daily living skills
  • Provides education and support in the use of community resources
  • Maintains accurate and current records training, supports, hours, integration levels, monies (if the individual is not able to handle their own finances), and Individual Service Plans
  • Supervises and supports individuals in following their daily activity schedule including household meal preparation/compliance maintaining sanitary and orderly conditions in their home, other household tasks, and transporting residents as necessary
  • Ensures homes maintain highest level of cleanliness and upkeep
  • Distributes and record medications as prescribed
  • Teaches adaptive living skills
  • Participates in in-service training and staff meetings to facilitate professional development.
  • Assists individuals in all aspects of (needed) personal care
  • Trains individuals to access public transportation and assists them in assessing benefits such as Social Security, SSI, and Section 8 Housing
  • Acts as a liaison between guardians, parents, community, and neighborhood
  • Uses crisis intervention techniques in emergency situations when individuals are in danger of injuring themselves of others
  • During absence, ensure that all responsibilities are delegated accordingly
  • Completes quality assurance check sheets, safety inspections and disaster drills
  • Complies with all Momentum WORK, CCL & OSHA policies, procedures, and regulations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to go up and down stairs
  • Ability to speak, read, hear, and understand technical written material
  • The employee is frequently required to climb, stoop, twist, or bend and lift up to fifty (50) pounds, using proper body mechanics to minimize injuries to self and people served
  • Full awareness of environmental stimuli
  • Ability to implement Crisis Management, Safety & ProAct techniques (training included)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with an emphasis in the areas of education, psychology, social services, or related field (work experience may be substituted for education)
  • Proven ability to work with and motivate staff members
  • Ability to earn respect and confidence of Momentum WORK, Inc. staff
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff within the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency (esp. Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Teams etc.)
  • Compassion and respect for persons with disabilities
  • Will need to be available during any disasters, per disaster plan
  • Valid CA Driver’s License: must have an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency’s insurance carrier and by Agency policy
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with persons with developmental and/or other disabilities in individual and/or group settings preferred; One (1) year of w year of which must be increasingly responsible for administrative and/or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality regarding persons served and other related information
  • Valid certification in CPR/First Aid (Training included)
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and understanding because people served may have intellectual, emotional, or behavioral challenges, in addition to physical limitations.
