Responsible for overseeing day-to-day fiscal operations of a work unit or a group of accounting functions; supervises and performs the most complex accounting duties, including purchasing, accounts payable, cost accounting, payroll administration, year-end audit, cash management, and accounting that requires knowledge of specialized rules and regulations. Additionally, the Accounting Manager supports the validation of the company’s financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information in order to help achieve fiscal goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises a work unit or a group of employees in the Fiscal department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
REQUIRES: Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and two year supervisory or administrative experience. Strong computer skills with knowledge of Accounting software (Blackbaud Financials desired); Valid CDL required, Certified Public Accountant license highly desirable.
