UCSB Healing Communities Conference

We would like to invite non-profits in Santa Barbara county to present at or attend the Healing Communities Conference.  The conference will bring together non-profit practitioners with scholars to explore the processes and communities of healing that address trauma as a result of three distinct yet intimately linked social problems: capitalism, colonialism, and environmental degradation.
If you would be interested in presenting at the conference, please submit a proposal by December 4th.  Proposals could focus on how your non-profit works on healing the Santa Barbara community or other related topics.  The full call for proposals is found here.   The conference is jointly organized by three UCSB graduate students: Giulia Giamboni (History), Michael J. Ioannides (Anthropology) and Mariah Miller (Global Studies).  Please feel free to contact us with any questions at healingcommunities@history.ucsb.edu.
Healing Communities will be a hybrid conference held on February 24 -25, 2023 with the in-person edition held at UCSB.
