Martin Plourd, a banking executive with more than 40 years of financial services experience in four California counties, has joined the Board of Directors for the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara.
A graduate of Cal Poly Pomona and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware, Mr. Plourd was appointed president and chief executive officer of Community West Bank and Community West Bancshares in Goleta in 2011. Previously, he served as president and chief operating officer at Temecula Bank, and as executive vice president at Valley Independent Bank, among other positions. His banking career has also included lending, marketing, and strategic planning. Mr. Plourd serves as a trustee for the Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital Foundation, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Goleta, an advisory board member for the College of Agriculture at Cal Poly Pomona, and an executive board member for Western Bankers, a trade association.
“Marty is well respected in the community and highly knowledgeable in his field. We expect to benefit significantly from his experience and insight,” said Scholarship Foundation President and CEO Barbara Robertson.
Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara is the nation’s largest community-based provider of college scholarships, having cumulatively awarded in excess of $137 million to more than 55,000 county students since its founding in 1962.
