Cobijo Health is a Santa Barbara nonprofit (501(c)(3) in formation) building a free, multilingual tool that helps low-income and uninsured patients access the financial help they’re legally entitled to for their medical bills — hospital charity care, Medi-Cal/Covered California screening, and medical-debt navigation. It’s live now at cobijohealth.org.
We’re recruiting our first founding board and would love introductions to candidates for five seats:
– Nonprofit/health attorney
– CPA / treasurer
– Healthcare-access expert (navigator, promotora, or safety-net clinician)
– Fundraiser / development
– Community member with lived experience of medical bills or the safety-net system
