This exciting position is full-time, 40 hours/week, working under the general supervision of the SYV Youth Coalition Director. The Youth Services Specialist will respond to Santa Ynez Valley Union High School referrals of students at risk of academic failure by providing mentoring in academic/remedial instruction and assistance. Youth Service Specialist is responsible but not limited to, youth supervision during program hours of operation, interface with school counselors, parents, staff, to advocate for students’ well-being and success and help implement additional support services or programs for students before, during and after school hours. Youth Specialist will also evaluate referred students and participate regularly with High School Intervention Team meetings and communicate with youth and families about PHP services.
BA/BS w/at least 12 units in ED. and/or Human Services or AA/AS w/ at least 12 units in ED. and /or Human Services (preferred). Preferably proficient in English and Spanish. Please email resumes to selenes@syvphp.org
