About the position:

Role: Marketing, Administration, Design, Management

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: Remote & In-office, Goleta, CA

As Clay Studio’s Marketing Manager, you will work in collaboration with the Executive Director. You will oversee and work collaboratively with other staff, including the website manager, enews manager, social media manager, graphic designer and web developer on an as needed basis. You will play a key role in creating assets for a customer-centric journey on our digital platforms such as website graphics, email marketing, and social media creative. Your work will support the larger goals of the marketing department to promote thoughtful, productive experiences, elevate the customer journey, and use engaging storytelling.

What You’ll Do:

  • Initiate and oversee all major marketing campaigns.
  • Act as key point of contact for internal and external relationships—being the eyes, ears, and mouth of the marketing team as a whole. Keeping your “finger on the pulse” to maintain and build relationships long-term.
  • Advocate for the big picture. You will tie all marketing activity back to organizational goals.
  • Build the brand of the organization. In the short term, you will be an advocate for consistency, ensuring the look, style and feel for all public-facing communications, as well as educating staff on the importance of brand consistency. In the long term, you may oversee an agency to facilitate the rebranding process.
  • Create a content calendar and original content that spans multiple touch points and creates a consistent omnichannel experience for customers and potential customers.
  • Identify key personas to identify target audiences and create segment profiles within Klaviyo for email marketing campaigns
  • Develop additional touchpoints and methods of communicating with customers as needed
  • Manages marketing strategy by segmenting audiences and ensuring we are sending the “right content to the right people.”
  • Oversee content created by various marketing staff (see below).
  • Define measurable goals and organizational strategy. You will find the nexus between what the organization wants to communicate (internal goals, programming, sales) and what the community seeks (what people are most interested in).
  • Owning file management, uploading files to a shared Dropbox folder for use by the staff marketing team.
  • Be responsible for file management for multiple product launches at the same time.
  • Work on multiple projects, prioritizing as needed and efficiently managing time while

giving and receiving strategic direction.

  • Follow an image editing process as needed at multiple fidelity levels and producing handoffs to support the needs of the marketing department.
  • Manage deadlines and tight turn-arounds.
  • Provide quality assurance of all marketing assets.
  • Assist with print, digital and social graphics as needed. Working knowledge of Adobe CC Suite is recommended but not needed.
  • Work with graphic designers to create clean and descriptive production files as needed.
  • Ensure the usability, consistency, brand relevance, and functionality of finished work.
  • Keep up to date with the latest digital technologies, advances in web and mobile

technologies.

Experience You Bring:

  • Proficiency with marketing industry and best practices.
  • Proficiency and experience with Wordpress, Klavio is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to present to the board of directors with confidence and relationship building.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills. Must be able to function as an individual contributor who is part of a larger team.
  • File organization is a large part of the job. You must have the ability to manage a database of files and images, juggling multiple files with ease in support of weekly campaigns. File management is essential to ensure assets and resources are where they need to be for the rest of the team.
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to articulate intent to other members of the team, and project expertise and confidence to stakeholders.
  • Canva experience or Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
