Volunteers Needed!
Since 1974, Hospice of Santa Barbara has been providing compassionate care and support to those impacted with serious illness and the bereaved in our community. Hospice of Santa Barbara’s community initiative, Get It Done SB!, is looking for dedicated volunteers to help Santa Barbara community members put their healthcare wishes in writing through an Advance Directive.
An Advance Directive is a simple legal form that puts your healthcare wishes in writing, giving you peace of mind and giving your loved ones clarity during one of life’s most difficult moments.
We’re hosting a FREE three-week volunteer training for individuals who want to make a real difference in the lives of their neighbors on:
August 6, 13 & 20 | 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (all three sessions required)
In person at Hospice of Santa Barbara, 2050 Alameda Padre Serra, Suite 100
Trainees will receive one year of mentorship following the training and learn how to:
✔ Guide community members through completing their Advance Directives
✔ Develop powerful presentation and public speaking skills
✔ Facilitate group workshops and one-on-one appointments
✔ Help ensure community members’ healthcare wishes are truly honored
A short pre-screening interview is required, and applications are open now at www.getitdonesb.org/become-a-volunteer. The deadline to apply is July 10th.
