The Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP) is seeking applicants who are motivated to support expecting or parenting youth between the ages of 12-21 in Santa Maria & Lompoc with countywide travel into Santa Barbara. The position is full-time with benefits and starts out between $21.00 – $23.00 per hour.

As an AFLP case manager your role will be to facilitate the Positive Youth Development (PYD) model through weekly individual sessions in the home or the community. Throughout the course of the curriculum the case manager will implement strengths-based and culturally responsive strategies to engage youth. Curriculum topics include but are not limited to SMART goal setting, resource and referral and education on healthy relationships. 

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Nursing, Human Services, Human Development, or other behavior sciences field and two (2) years of experience in a social service setting such as working directly with children, families and young adults, or in a case management, mental health or family services agency. Or Three years of case management experience; and Two years of experience working with youth in a professional or academic capacity.

Computer Skills: To perform this position successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software and develop an understanding of specialized database applications.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current valid California Driver’s License with ability to qualify for coverage under Agency insurance plan.

Other Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired. Knowledge of counseling and communicating with young adults and families preferred.
