You are invited to come join us as we unveil preliminary research findings from the Lompoc and Santa Maria Thriving Youth Study

The Thriving Youth Study (TYS), a community-engaged participatory action research project led by the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center (CSRC), in partnership with Future for Lompoc Youth, Future Leaders of America, Lompoc Chamber of Commerce, The Fund for Santa Barbara, and Allan Hancock College, will host a preliminary research findings conference on Thursday, June 27, 2024, 5:30pm – 7:00pm, at the Dick DeWees Community and Senior Center in Lompoc, California.

Over the past months, Allan Hancock College, Lompoc and Santa Maria high school students have been partnering with UCLA researchers to design and distribute the survey to the Allan Hancock student population as well as Santa Maria and Lompoc community members. The findings from this study will be used to guide local institutions in providing educational, employment, civic, and health-related programs and inform grassroots campaigns, and local and statewide policy.

Community members are invited to come learn from researchers, project partners, and participate in a data gallery walk.
