Carpinteria Valley Historical Society and History Museum’s outdoor fundraiser, The Marketplace, is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the museum grounds at 956 Maple Ave. in downtown Carpinteria.

The Marketplace is filled with vendors offering a variety of goods, including handcrafted gifts, specialty foods, toys, antiques, furniture, jewelry, clothing, plants, musical instruments, household items including quilts, kitchenware, and chinaware, and tons more. Prices at Granny’s Attic, the booth operated by the museum, start at 25 cents.

 

One of the popular vendors is Midnight Sky Bookstore, a pop-up and online children’s bookstore. According to owner Paula Bergen, Midnight Sky Bookstore has a small inventory of carefully selected books for children of all ages. Rounding out the family friendly event are entertainment by local musicians. Hot dogs, cold beverages, and snacks will be available for purchase, and as always admission is free to the Marketplace.
