About Rooted Santa Barbara County:
Rooted launched in 2019 to fill the nutrition gap in our local healthcare and food sectors and to catalyze a shift in local healthcare from a treatment-based approach to one that leads with prevention. While incubating a fiscally sponsored organization of the Santa Barbara Foundation, we have built community and grown an impressive network of local and national partners, supporters, and volunteers committed to mobilizing within our county to grow health equity and resilience through whole food, plant-based nutrition education and support.
We’re now readying to launch our new, well-informed business model design in 2024. Help us grow a new culture of health in Santa Barbara County through accessible, bilingual nutrition and food skills programs and system-chaning partnerships with healthcare and direct service organizations. Together we can reduce the burden of chronic disease, optimize health, and help our county residents eat to thrive.
