OPERA IN THE PARK 2026!
Opera Santa Barbara invites audiences of all ages to celebrate music, community, and summer sunshine at the return of Opera in the Park, a family-friendly outdoor concert event on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Godric Grove at Elings Park.
Titled A Celebration of American Song, this special concert commemorates the 250th birthday of the United States with a vibrant program featuring selections from American opera, musical theatre, and art song. Guests are encouraged to pack a picnic, bring blankets and seat cushions, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of live music beneath the open sky.
Performed by acclaimed Opera Santa Barbara artists Emily Gallagher, soprano; Max Potter, mezzo-soprano; Felipe Prado, tenor; and Matthew Peterson, baritone, the concert will be accompanied on piano by program curator Catherine Miller.
The eclectic program will feature music by celebrated American composers and songwriters including Aaron Copland, Charles Ives, Ricky Ian Gordon, Matteo Neri, Jake Heggie, Victor Herbert, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, Colm Wilkinson, and Leonard Bernstein.
