Foods for a Healthy Heart

Free, Online only
Organizer: Rooted Santa Barbara County
We invite you to join us for this free Food for Life class to learn more about foods that keeper hearts healthy.

About this event

February is Heart Health month, and we know that when combined with regular exercise and a healthful overall lifestyle, low-fat, plant-based eating can prevent, delay, and in some cases, even reverse heart disease. We invite you to join us for this free Food for Life class to learn how, and decide if eating more plants is right for you.

Enjoy learning how to prepare low-fat, plant-based meals in this one hour class with Food for Life instructor Jenifer Swartzentruber MS, RDN. As a local dietitian, Jenifer inspires others to live a more plant-forward lifestyle with a simple, “start where you are” approach for achieving optimal health and wellbeing.

New to plant-based living? No worries, Foods for a Healthy Heart is designed for all levels to help you get rooted and stay rooted!

During this class participants will:

  • Learn how both animal and plant-based foods affect heart health.
  • Receive heart-healthy, plant-based recipes that Jen will prepare during the class.
  • Reflect on information and begin a plan to introduce more plant-based foods daily.

This session is a Food for Life class, which will not be recorded – please make a note that this is a one-time Zoom event and can only be seen live.
