Join UC Santa Barbara’s Department of Special Research Collections for a tour with artist, Jane Gottlieb.
If you look up from the West Paseo, you can’t miss the most colorful art piece to the Library – a painting by Jane Gottlieb. The work, titled “Check It Out,” depicts the UCSB Library and has both a futuristic and retro air. The piece measures 14 feet by 15 feet and is composed of eight archival prints on aluminum, assembled to fit snugly together.
View this piece up close and hear from the artist herself as she provides background and context to this work as well as many other pieces displayed throughout our campus.
The event will begin at the Paseo Entrance of the UCSB Library. The tour and presentation will be followed by a reception with light refreshments.
