Yes. The planning team intentionally selected this venue for its access to nature within ADA accessible routing on the museum campus for full participation. This nonprofit venue has outdoor cement, asphalt, and natural bark pathways which are uneven in places. Two wooden bridges and cement paths may be slippery. Participants will move across uneven and unpredictable surfaces throughout the day. The program will involve periods of standing, sitting in folding chairs, and walking around the outdoor campus. While the area is wonderfully shaded by oak trees, guests may be exposed to sun, wind, cold/warm and changing temperatures, limited shade, insect life, uneven surfaces and other natural elements. If you have questions about the nature of this program, please email partnershipforexcellence@gmail.com or complete the ADA request form here by May 3, 2023. All reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate participants.

Event Logistics
This year’s program will be in the Fleischmann Auditorium (indoors) in the morning, and outdoors in the well-shaded oak grove campus for lunch and the afternoon at the Museum of Natural History. While we hope for beautiful weather for this time of year, please plan ahead to be outside. This nonprofit venue has outdoor cement, asphalt, and natural bark pathways which are uneven in places. Two wooden bridges may be slippery. ADA accessible routes are available on the museum campus for full participation.
Participants will move across uneven and unpredictable terrain throughout the day. The program will involve periods of standing, sitting in folding chairs, and walking around the campus. The campus is wonderfully shaded by oak trees. Participants may be exposed to sun, wind, cold/warm and changing temperatures, limited shade, insect life, uneven surfaces and other natural elements. Beyond a creative mindset, PFE strongly recommends the following:
- Dress in warm layers that can be easily taken off and put back on throughout the day
- Wear sturdy, close toed, flat shoes
- Bring a hat and/ or sunglasses for sun protection, a small, closeable bag/backpack for your belongings; and a reusable mug for hot/cold beverages throughout the day (or opt- in for PFE travel mug at registration)
Sunscreen and insect repellent will be provided. If you have questions about the nature of this venue or to make an ADA request, please email partnershipforexcellence@gmail.com by May 3, 2023. We are happy to speak with you and all reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate participants.
PFE starts at the Museum of Natural History at 9am and ends at 4pm. Please plan to arrive at 8:30 AM for check-in.
Yes. Morning coffee and refreshments, lunch, and afternoon refreshments are all included. Water and beverages will be available throughout the day. Please bring a reusable hot/cold beverage bottle – or opt-in for PFE complimentary travel mug. We will be outdoors for lunch and the afternoon session. If you have specific food allergies, please email partnershipforexcellence@gmail.com by May 3, 2023.
PFE will provide a vegan lunch option. If your dietary restrictions are not accommodated within these options, or you have specific food allergies, please email partnershipforexcellence@gmail.com by May 3, 2023.
While there is cellular access on the museum campus, PFE strongly encourages guests to embrace the theme of wellness awareness by unplugging for the day. We hope this will be a valued feature of the event, but acknowledge that this may raise challenges for some of us. All attendees will appreciate your intentional participation in our “unplug” value of the day. Thank you!
The short answer is no, though you will be working on building community relationships! Please take the necessary steps prior to PFE to alert your team that you will be offline for the day. There is no wifi and very limited cell reception throughout the ranch property. We hope this will be a valued feature of the event, but acknowledge that this may raise some anxieties. All attendees will appreciate your participation in our “unplug” value of the day. Thank you!
As with any outdoor venue, weather is not entirely predictable. Barring a severe weather event, the program will proceed rain or shine. In the event of a declared weather emergency, PFE will be canceled or rescheduled. In this unusual case, your registration(s) will automatically transfer to the alternate weather date. Please understand, no refunds are available for weather conditions nor the alternate weather date.
