Scholarship Foundation Extends Application Deadline!

County students now have 18 more days to apply for financial assistance during the coming academic year from the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara. The Foundation has extended its application deadline for 2024-25 scholarships from January 31 to February 18 in response to technical problems that continue to bedevil the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Completion of the FAFSA is a requirement for Scholarship Foundation aid. Foundation application materials and instructions are available online at www.sbscholarship.org/apply.

“The release of the new FAFSA was delayed until December 31, and its rollout has been plagued by technical issues. We know this has created new levels of anxiety among students and their families, so an application extension is wholly appropriate. We encourage students to complete their applications as soon as possible,” said Scholarship Foundation President and CEO Melinda Cabrera.
