This month, CALM welcomed 200 guests with a shared commitment to creating a safer future for children to its annual Let’s Get Loud event on the rooftop at Toyota of Santa Maria.
Let’s Get Loud raised funds to provide preventative mental health services that meet the needs of the Santa Maria community, which has a high concentration of families with young children. CALM’s prevention programs are focused on giving adults the skills and capacity to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children.
“Let’s Get Loud is about more than just one night — it’s about building a foundation of trauma prevention,” said CALM President & CEO, Alana Walczak. “In a community as vibrant and young as Santa Maria, investing in children and families early is essential. When we offer resources, compassionate services, and competent mental health care, we can help prevent trauma and build resilience. We can change the trajectory of a child’s life, as well as the future of our entire community.”
Guests heard a powerful speech by Walczak, highlighting how early intervention and supportive relationships can interrupt cycles of trauma and build brighter futures. The event also included an exciting live auction, prize drawing, and a heartfelt paddle raise, contributing to the over $90,000 that was raised.
CALM extends deep gratitude to the Presenting Sponsor, SESLOC Credit Union, who has sponsored the annual event for the past ten years, and to Toyota of Santa Maria for hosting once again. CALM is also grateful to the many other sponsors, community partners, supporters, and attendees who made the night a success.
As Child Abuse Prevention Month continues throughout April, CALM encourages everyone to learn more about how they can support prevention efforts in their own homes and communities.
