Elings Park’s 230 acres become home to four different children’s camps over eight weeks this summer. The weeklong camps are for ages 5 to 12 and most run from June 17 to August 16, with no camps the week of July 4.
Registration is now open for the popular Outdoor Adventure Camp, which has additional spots available this summer; youth Tennis Camp, held for the first time in the newly renovated Las Positas Tennis Courts; two themed sessions of a new Theatre Camp; and the BMX Camp held at the park’s track. Teen Counselors in Training (CIT) ages 15 and up are also needed and receive community service points.

Kids not only make friends at Camp Elings, they make memories of summer as it should be spent, in the beautiful outdoors,” said Elings Executive Director Dean Noble. “They are unplugged, engaged in physical activity, and learning new skills, whether it’s riding BMX bikes, playing tennis, putting on a play, or exploring nature.”
Outdoor Adventure Camp
Campers explore nature throughout the Park, play tag and dodgeball, enjoy relay races, basketball and soccer drills, and more. They also hike, discover how plants germinate, and draw inspiration from plants and animals for arts and crafts. Wednesday is Reptile Day or Miniature Horse Day (pending availability), Thursday is Beach Day, and Friday is Slip ‘n Slide Day. Due to demand, additional spots are available this summer. For ages 5 to 12, held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the cost is $315 per week.
Tennis Camp
Tennis Camp is designed for players of all levels and will be held for the first time at the Los Positas Tennis Center since its recent renovation. Under the direction of Elings Park Tennis Pros Adam Webster and Daniel Webster, students work on match play, and tactical and technical drills; practice with the ball machine; and learn dynamic warm-ups and stretching. Students provide their own racquets. Eight week-long half-day sessions are open for ages 6 to 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $320.
Storybook Theatre Camp
Two themed week-long camps for aspiring thespians aged 7 to 12 are held in the park’s Godric Grove and each culminate with a live performance for family and friends. “Peter Pan” week is July 22 and “The Aristocats” week is July 29. Children learn scenes and songs from the famous Disney musicals, paint sets, create costumes, play games, make new friends, and gain self-confidence. Sessions are held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and cost is $400 per week.
BMX Camp
Elings Park’s BMX Camp is for boys and girls of all levels and abilities. Riders improve basic skills, learn track etiquette, and get a great workout at the park’s BMX track. Each camper must bring a helmet and functioning bike, and wear long sleeved-shirts, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. For ages 5 to 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the cost is $315 plus a BMX USA Membership of $80 ($395 total).
