Santa Barbara’s Elings Park offers three different children’s camps over eight weeks in summer 2025. The weeklong Camp Elings are for ages 5 to 12 and run from June 16 to August 8 (no camps on Friday, July 4).
Registration is now open online for the popular Outdoor Adventure Camp, which has added ceramics to its daily arts and crafts offerings this summer; youth Tennis Camp at the newly renovated Las Positas Tennis Courts; and BMX Camp, held at the park’s bicycle motorcross track.
Positions are available for teen Counselors in Training (CIT) ages 15 and up, who will receive community service points.

“Our summers are kid-driven. They can choose ceramics, capture the flag, animal visits, board games, slip ‘n slide, dodge ball… No wonder they don’t want to go home,” said Elings Park Executive Director Dean Noble. “We call them the ‘7 p.m. bedtime’ camps. Kids are worn out. Parents love us.”
Outdoor Adventure Camp
Campers explore nature throughout the Park, play tag and dodgeball, enjoy relay races, basketball and soccer drills, and more. They also hike, discover how plants germinate, and draw inspiration from plants and animals for arts and crafts.
New this summer: Maker House provides onsite ceramics instruction, which includes the completion of a “fired” project, thanks to a donation by Wheels on Wheels. Wednesday is Reptile Day or Miniature Horse Day (pending availability), Thursday is Beach Day, and Friday is Slip ‘n Slide Day. For ages 5 to 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the cost is $315 per week.
Tennis Camp
Tennis Camp is designed for players of all levels and is held at the newly renovated Los Positas Tennis Center since its recent renovation. Under the direction of Elings Park Tennis Pros Adam Webster and Daniel Webster, students work on match play, and tactical and technical drills; practice with the ball machine; and learn dynamic warm-ups and stretching. Students provide their own racquets. Eight week-long half-day sessions are open for ages 6 to 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $320.
BMX Camp
Elings Park’s BMX Camp is for boys and girls of all levels and abilities. Riders improve basic skills, learn track etiquette, and get a great workout at the park’s BMX track. Each camper must bring a helmet and functioning bike, and wear long sleeved shirts, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. For ages 5 to 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the cost is $315 plus a BMX USA Membership of $80 ($395 total).
Counselors in Training
Energetic and responsible teens who are great with kids are needed as Counselors in Training (CITs) at Camp Elings. They receive training and experience in outdoor sports and recreation, while earning community service hours. A certain level of maturity is required as CITs have responsibilities related to safety. For ages 15 and up, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the cost is $35 per weeklong camp session.
