The Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse (CADA) is seeking a

Full-time CASE MANAGER for our Youth Diversion Program in LOMPOC

CADA’s Diversion Program offers opportunities for at-risk youth to avoid traditional school and law enforcement consequences and punishments in favor of restorative activities and support services to address underlying causes of problematic behavior.

Case Managers work with youth and families to create and implement a Restorative Action Plan (including community service, education classes, mental health counseling, and/or substance abuse treatment), which takes the place of traditional consequences. They provide on-going support to the youth and families as they complete their plan.

Case Managers also lead educational groups and classes on a variety of topics including substance use/misuse, relationships, and conflict resolution.

This is a great position for someone interested in gaining experience and knowledge in criminal justice, social work, or helping professions. Excellent training is provided. Case Managers work alongside treatment counselors, therapists, and educators as a member of the Daniel Bryant Youth and Family Center team.

Qualifications:
  • Must be bilingual English/Spanish
  • Bachelor’s degree (in related field) OR 1 year experience in a helping profession or related field
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care
  • Ability to work with persons from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Registered or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or equivalent preferred
  • Background working with justice system-involved youth preferred
Desired Skills:
  • Interpersonal/Counseling
  • Ability to communicate well with parents, youth, and community organizations
  • Case management and/or social work skills
  • Knowledge of alcohol/drug issues for youth
  • Data Management & Documentation

Job responsibilities include: on-going engagement with youth/parents from referral to discharge, intake, assessment, and planning meetings with youth/parents, on-going case management and other direct services, collaboration/coordination with schools, law enforcement, Probation, and other referral sources, community outreach, facilitation of educational groups and classes.

This is a full time (40 hrs/wk) position with benefits including health, dental, retirement, and vacation/holiday/sick.

This positions is in person at our office in Lompoc

Salary range: $22.00-$25.00 dependent on qualifications and experience
