The Position:
The START Therapist provides intensive, school-based, and family intervention services to youth and families referred by the school. The START Therapist will provide a range of counseling, crisis intervention, and social casework to an assigned caseload.
FSA strives to be a trauma-informed and resilience-oriented organization. Because working with those impacted by trauma can affect staff in various ways, FSA actively identifies and employs methods to support staff to embody a healthy and sustainable balance of care for both themselves and others.
Sample Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides counseling services to assigned clients at the school site on a regular basis.
- Provides all methods of social casework services to clients as assigned. Ensures case collaboration with community agencies in linking families with needed resources appropriate to the treatment plan.
- Provides crisis intervention and referrals to clients on the assigned caseload.
- Maintains collaborative relationship with other members of the START team, school site and other community-based agencies. Participates in case conferences and attends meetings in regards to assigned caseload.
- Maintains reports and case records per agency policy as it relates to START grant requirements.
Employment Requirements:
- Masters degree required; must be an AMFT, ACSW, or APCC or licensed clinician (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or PSY) in good standing with the BBS in CA.
- Two years of professional experience working with at-risk youth required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Knowledge of Medi-Cal documentation standards a plus (not required).
- Excellent analytical, computer, written and verbal communication skills required.
- Professional attitude, teamwork, and ability to maintain confidentiality a must.
- Must possess valid CA driver license and auto insurance.
Classification, Hours and Pay Rate:
- This position is full-time (40 hours/week), non-exempt, with benefits, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and 403(b) retirement plan. Generous holiday and sick leave also offered.
- Pay range is from $27-$36/hour, depending on experience.
