The Position
FSA’s senior services positions are responsible for providing resource linkages, providing services to older adults and caregivers and managing a clinical caseload. Senior services staff may work in a variety of on-site and off-site settings, M-F between 8:00am-6:00pm. This position reports to and is supervised by the Senior Services Program Director, and /or Senior Services Clinical Supervisor. This position can be based out of any of FSA’s offices in Santa Maria, Lompoc, or Santa Barbara.
Working with those impacted by trauma can be fulfilling and meaningful, yet simultaneously exhausting and heart-rending. FSA strives to be a trauma-informed and resilience-oriented organization, actively identifying and employing methods to support staff to embody a healthy and sustainable balance of care for both themselves and others.
Sample of Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide ongoing counseling to seniors and caregivers as assigned.
2. Formulate psychosocial diagnoses, develop clinical goals and treatment plans, and facilitate clinically indicated intervention.
3. Assist in information gathering and resource referral regarding services for seniors, caregivers and their families.
4. Meet with clients to assess needs and develop case plans to address needs. Provide follow-up and ongoing case management/resource linkages to clients as needed.
5. Conduct clinical assessments evaluating the current status of clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health and considering relevant cultural issues and concerns.
6. Document all clinical and service activities promptly after providing service, providing information needed for billing purposes.
Employment Standards:
1. Must be one of the following: Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT); Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW); Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or a student currently enrolled in master’s or doctoral-level clinical program at an accredited university.
2. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
3. Minimum of 2 years clinical experience working with older adults or caregivers preferred.
4. Excellent clinical, interpersonal, analytical, computer, written, and verbal communication skills required.
5. Professional attitude, enjoys teamwork, and ability to maintain confidentiality a must.
6. Valid CA driver license and proof of insurance required.
Classification, Hours, and Pay Rate:
• This position is full-time (40 hours/week), non-exempt, with benefits, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending accounts and 403(b) retirement plan. Generous vacation, holiday and sick leave also offered. (Part-time opportunities may be considered – please inquire if desired.)
• Pay range is $27-$36/hour.
• This position can be based out of any of FSA’s offices in Santa Maria, Lompoc, or Santa Barbara. Some travel within SB County may be required.
