Join in on the excitement of our Art Exhibitions and Art Programming at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art where our mission is to integrate art into the lives of people. Security Guards are wanted and welcome at $17.50/hour for full-time and part-time regular schedules, including full and partial benefits, with opportunities to work on weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
Duties include patrolling the Museum to prevent theft, damage and injuries, monitoring and reporting any security or safety irregularities, and providing information to visitors. The ideal candidate will have a professional appearance and effective communication and customer service skills. Some security or law enforcement experience preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
Full Time status is eligible for all of our health plans including medical, dental, vision, pretax, long term disability, and life insurance. You are also accruing 15 days of vacation and are issued 64 hours of sick leave at hire and annually thereafter. The Museum pays for 13 holidays and 14 holidays during Federal voting years. Part-time regular status is eligible for partial benefits with a schedule of 20 or more hours/week which include: prorated vacation pay, holiday pay, 40 hours paid sick leave minimum (for all employees), and 403b retirement savings plan with a 100% employer match of up to 5% of earnings after a year’s service. Variable/On-Call status is not benefits eligible.
