POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for implementing all aspects of marketing and communications for the agency, both internal and external.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creation of marketing/outreach collateral, both print and electronic
- Write and implement email campaigns and newsletters, and update contact lists
- Social media content creation and management
- Create and deliver press releases and media relations content, manage media contacts, media interviews, coordinate public service announcements
- Coordination and creation of marketing and communications schedules
- Ensure organization-wide marketing is accurate and brand consistent and compliant
- Serve as liaison for vendors including printers, mail house, public relations, etc.
- Provide oversight for all website content, creation, and maintenance
- Assist Development Department with direct mail campaigns, year-round storytelling, marketing to develop donors, donations, and donor retention
- Act as spokesperson and public advocate on domestic violence when appropriate
- Maintain appropriate relations with other professional and social service groups and serve on appropriate community committees to enhance agency’s opportunities
- Maintain, organize, and update marketing library
- Coordinate targeted email marketing, updating and increasing email lists
- Assist in event planning and execution; lead the audio-visual and marketing components
- Client projects and special campaigns
- Assist Executive Director and Director of Administration as needed
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications or related field preferred
- Nonprofit experience required
- 3+ years’ of experience in marketing, communications, or related field
- Exceptional with social and digital media creation and management
- Experience in copy writing and editing
- Knowledge of software/technology for social media management, email provider, website maintenance, and graphic design software: Hootsuite, Constant Contact, Canva, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
- Experience in overseeing implementation of branding guidelines required

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have excellent grammatical skills and great attention to detail
- Ability to juggle, prioritize, and meet multiple deadlines
