Job Summary
Therapy Dogs of Santa Barbara is seeking an experienced Fundraising Associate to assist us in raising awareness and funds for the organization. In this part-time role (20 hours per week), you will build marketing campaigns that increase public awareness about our efforts, maintain contact with current donors, identify and secure new donors, and assist with grant proposals from corporations as well as private and public foundations. The ideal candidate is someone who feels comfortable speaking with donors and is able to enthusiastically assist our organization attain the donations it needs to effectively serve our community.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in the development of marketing campaigns
* Maintain relationships with previous and current donors
* Identify new donors
* Identify new funding opportunities, including bequests
* Develop and maintain a donor database
* Research and write grant proposals
* Raise public awareness by speaking at local clubs and events
* Organize online and in-person fundraising events
Requirements and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
* Professional fundraising experience preferred
* Experience with nonprofit fundraising a plus
* Event planning experience a plus
* Relationship management skills
* Organizational and communication skills
* Self starter and detail oriented
* Comfortable working remotely in own home office
