Full-time position with full benefits. Work location to be determined (Santa Maria or Goleta) with countywide travel required.

The Education Manager is responsible for supervising a multidisciplinary Program Support Team and is part of the Planning and Development Team.  The PSM supervises a team which provides expert guidance to the program in meeting and exceeding standards, manages program written materials and maintains various program systems. The team provides multidisciplinary resources and training in all program areas.  The team supports centers and home educators in the delivery of services for children and families and interfaces with the community in a variety of coordinated efforts. As a member of the Planning and Development Team, the Education Manager provides leadership in the planning, development and implementation of new initiatives and special projects.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES; Manages Program Support Specialists who provide support and direction to site staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

REQUIREMENTS: Masters in Management and Administration, Human Development, Public Health, Education, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field And 3-5 years management/leadership experience in programs (of similar size and complexity as that operated at CAC) preferably in a non-profit, community-based health, social services or educational organization.  Or BA in Management and Administration,  Human Development, Public Health, Nutrition, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field and 5 years management/leadership experience in programs (of similar size and complexity as that operated at CAC) preferably in a non-profit, community-based health, social services or educational organization.

Must have strong computer skills with knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Valid California driver’s license, current insurance coverage and an acceptable driving record, as determined by the Agency. Bilingual highly desirable. Must occassionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Other Qualifications Must meet state health requirements including physical examination and TB clearance.  Must be fingerprinted and have such records filed with the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing.  Provide verification of State required vaccines upon hire for: Influenza (from August 1 to December 1), Pertussis, and Measles.  Acceptable verifications include immunization record and physician statement.  Exceptions to vaccinations: Flu can be waived by completing annual waiver.
