Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara is seeking a Director of Programs.  The Director of Programs role is pivotal to our mission’s success. Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Manage operations for multiple programs within the organization, to support outstanding program effectiveness and impactful delivery to the families and youth we serve.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize program delivery, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Manage and supervise management staff, support their professional development, and enhance their ability to supervise their staff and programs with impact.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, healthy work environment and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Develop and administer relevant and comprehensive training opportunities for all program staff and help them meet challenges through problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the organization’s teen programs and enhance opportunities for collaboration.
  • Support capacity-building and growth of program enrollment.
  • Support the financial sustainability of Girls Inc. through budget management. Ensure fiscal responsibility, judicious resource allocation, and alignment with the organization’s financial goals.
  • Ensure full compliance with Community Care licensing requirements, quality assurance assessments, and program evaluation assessments.

Minimum Requirements:
• 4+ years’ experience working with youth in a structured educational setting.

  • 4+ years’ experience supervising staff.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in early childhood education, child and adolescent development, elementary education, or social work.
    • 12 college level units in early childhood education or any of the following areas: sociology, psychology, art, music, dance, drama, recreation, education.
    • Ability to pass criminal background check and pre-employment physical and drug screening.
    • Vaccinations as required by State Law for licensed child care facilities (TB, Pertussis and Measles immunization. Flu vaccine recommended, but optional).
    •We require COVID-19 vaccines and boosters for all employees. Exemptions may be requested for medical reasons or religious beliefs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability and desire to work as a team member of a diverse and dynamic team.
  • It is highly preferred that applicants possess a clean driving record and have the ability to drive the organization’s class C vehicles to safely transport youth passengers and all other driving needs.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaker preferred.

Hours of Position:

  • Full Time Exempt
  • Monday- Friday 40+ hours p/wk. Must be available during program operation hours (Hours may vary by season, some weekend and evening hours required)

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $80K-90K depending on experience and education
  • Vacation, sick, and holiday pay included
