The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (CADA) is seeking a Director of Development to join its Senior Management Team in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. This role offers the opportunity to lead fundraising and donor engagement efforts for the county’s premier provider of life-changing treatment and support for children, teens, adults, and families impacted by substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience on a successful nonprofit Development Team.
- Proven ability to build lasting relationships with diverse populations through exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and public speaking).
- Highly organized, goal-driven, and capable of managing multiple projects with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Strong sense of integrity and alignment with CADA’s mission and culturally sensitive workplace values.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute short- and long-term fundraising strategies, including donor campaigns, major events, and annual appeals, to secure unrestricted and restricted funding.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with major donors, institutional funders, and new prospects to retain and grow support.
- Research and secure grant funding and sponsorship opportunities from public and private sources.
- Oversee donor database management, ensuring data accuracy, security, and actionable reporting to support development goals.
- Create and implement an annual development plan with measurable goals, collaborating with Finance for accurate reporting and Marketing to share donor stories.
- Lead the production of fundraising materials, donor correspondence, appeals, and executive communications to inspire engagement and support.
- Plan and coordinate community outreach initiatives and represent the organization at events to strengthen relationships and visibility.
- Manage financial accounting for fundraising activities, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational objectives.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. This is an in-person position, and a successful candidate would be required onsite in Santa Barbara. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, retirement contribution, and paid time off.
Compensation is dependent on the level of prior experience and qualifications, with a salary range of $85,280-$104,000.
