Leading From Within (LFW) serving Santa Barbara County, is looking to hire an Impact Coordinator to provide excellent program support for the management of our north county program  –  Leading for Community Impact (LCI) – based in Santa Maria.

Leading From Within equips community changemakers to grow their ability to lead, collaborate, and drive solutions. We bring leaders together to grow as individuals, improve their effectiveness as leaders, sustain each other as peers to keep leading and learning, and increase their capacity to be collaborators for the common good.   

Community Impact Coordinator will work closely with the program co-facilitators to provide logistical and administrative support in running a 11-month Leading for Community Impact program, which meets one day a month (see dates below) at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA. The position will average about 20 hours/month. Training will be provided to support the Coordinator to do their best work.

Qualifications:

  • A caring and nurturing personality; ability to be self-directed, plan ahead with minimal supervision
  • An orientation towards exceptional customer service and hospitality
  • Track record of effective project management and event planning
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • A team player; ability to manage multiple deadlines; and the ability to be reliable
  • An excellent problem-solver; strong computing skills including (at a minimum) fluency in Word, Excel, and/or Google Docs and Spreadsheets.

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the program co-facilitators to provide administrative and logistical support in running an 11-month leadership development program 
  • Manage administrative functions essential to assisting LFW with the LCI program and maintain and improve the efficiency of all aspects of the organization’s work
  • Provides mature and caring interpersonal communications with participants, prospects, and friends of our organization and programs
  • Manage event planning logistics for all LCI program meetings, including small to mid-sized events for cultivating supporters, hosting speakers and/or celebrating program culminations
  • Maintain program equipment and supplies
  • Provide support to the recruiting and enrolling of participants into the program
  • Assist with the distribution of communications for LCI participants and/or applicants
  • Other duties as assigned and/or as relevant to the candidate’s skills and interests 

Job Status:  
Hourly
Part-time; average of 20 hours/month
(~15 hours within the week of the program session; see dates below)
12 month contract position with the possibility of renewal

Compensation:
$28/hour

Location & Timeline:
Work remotely and travel to program sessions and special events; preparation/errands to be completed where and when is most convenient. 

Program Orientation: March 22 at 1-5 PM, located in Los Olivos

2024 Program Sessions, located in Santa Maria:

  • Session 1: April 5
  • Session 2: May 3
  • Session 3: May 31
  • Session 4: June 28
  • Session 5: July 26
  • Session 6: August 23
  • Session 7: September 20
  • Session 8: October 11
  • Session 9: November 8
  • Session 10: December 6

Culmination Event: December 11 at 5:30-7 pm, located in Guadalupe

Position begins immediately
