New Directions for People with Disabilities, Inc. (New Directions Travel) is a non-profit organization proving travel opportunities for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Our small office has organized and conducted fun and safe tours in California and beyond since 1985.
The Business Manager/Accountant position is part-time, requiring approximately 10 to 15 hours weekly, and starts at $35 – $45 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Overall control and management of New Directions finances.
– Understanding all bookkeeping tasks and their importance to the organization.
– Assisting and advising the Executive Director and the Board of Directors by creating and analyzing income, expenses, payroll and other reports using the QuickBooks and Excel software.
– Working with the Executive Director and Program Director to create yearly Budget.
– Creating the monthly Financial Reports and explaining possible variances.
– Monitoring insurance policies and expensing all prepaids.
– Monitoring payroll and ensuring payment of all State and Federal liabilities, filing quarterly and yearly wage reports.
– Creating and providing data to CPA, granting entities, Executive Director or Board of Directors as needed.
This position requires understanding of Accounting Principles and experience with non-profits.
