Since 2004 we have offered world-class, (r)evolutionary educational programs to those affected by the criminal justice system both inside prisons and in the community. We focus on person-centered transformation, educating people to improve their lives on all dimensions of human experience: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
FTC’s mission is?
To transform the lives of individuals impacted by incarceration through compassionate experiential education. This includes both inside prisons and society as a whole. We’re a fast-growing non-profit in California and we’re looking for an independent, like-minded, heart-centered superstar to add to our staff.
The Opportunity
FTC offers award-winning, educational programs to those impacted by incarceration both inside prisons and in the community. We educate people to improve their lives on all dimensions of the human experience: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

1. Office Administration
- Answer and manage office phone, responding to email and phone requests in a timely manner.
- Handle mail, bills, and donations; directing them to the appropriate recipients.
- Run essential errands (pickup mail, bank deposits, supply purchasing, etc.). Mileage reimbursement provided.
- Efficiently manage paper and digital filing systems.
- Oversee inventory and order office and program supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient office environment.
- Other administrative duties as needed.
- Manage and format data; generate reports using various computer software skills such as spreadsheets, word processing, and more.
2. Program & Special Event Assistance
- Provide administrative support for program activities, including maintaining databases, event logistics, workshop material preparation, and more as needed.
- Collaborate with Program Coordinators, Director of Education, and prison/agency staff to streamline and coordinate program logistics and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of materials and supplies for workshops (in both English and Spanish).
- Attend workshops/events at prisons and in the community as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong administrative capabilities with attention to detail.
- High school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency with tech: Mac, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, CRM tools, etc.
- Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to work harmoniously in diverse settings.
- Alignment with the Freedom to Choose Project’s mission is essential.
- Previous experience or association with the Freedom to Choose Project is a plus.
- Familiarity with the criminal justice system, re-entry programs, or addiction recovery programs is beneficial.
- Non-profit administration experience is a significant advantage.
- Willingness to travel occasionally with a personal vehicle.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds for event setups.
- Understand that the Freedom to Choose Project maintains a drug-free workplace; candidates must clear background/drug screenings.
- Possess the ability to inspire, work collaboratively, maintain flexibility, and project a positive attitude.
- Meet and manage deadlines efficiently.
- Maintain excellent communication skills.
- Type at a speed of a minimum of 60 words per minute.
Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
- Shows initiative, able to multitask while maintaining high level of attention to detail
