Salary Range: $28.39 – $39.12 per hour

Position Summary:

  • Provides leadership and drives work related to business planning and fund development, including individual and event fundraising, corporate sponsorships, grants as well as healthcare or other contract opportunities and negotiations.
  • Responsible for providing minimal clerical and administrative support to the Executive Director and organization overall.
  • This position will be hired for a 12-month employment contract with the expectation of completing all job duties, supplying a completed development plan, and identifying a minimum of two new sources of revenue within the 12-month period.

Position Duties/Responsibility:

Development

  • Development of strategic fundraising strategies/plans
  • Work to obtain financial and other resources to support and sustain the work of the LVCHO, including but not limited to planned, annual and deferred giving, approaches to individuals, foundation and corporate grants, earned income, healthcare contracts, direct mail, or special events
  • Assists in the creation of communications and marketing materials to support development efforts and/or aligns current marketing and promotion efforts with development efforts
  • Comfortable expanding the network of the LVCHO’s donors, advocates and partners in Lompoc and the broader Santa Barbara County region
  • Supports the development and production of a comprehensive calendar of development activities and tasks and supervises the deadlines of those activities
  • Assists in pursuing grant proposals
  • Assists in preparation of data and grant reports for grantor
  • Ensures proper donor activity tracking, acknowledgments, notifications and communications
  • Conducts donor prospect research
  • Conducts contract prospect research
  • May coordinate an annual donor event

Administration

  • Manages digital filing of LVCHO documents
  • Interface with all office vendors and manage vendor contracts
  • Develop solutions for improved performance, organization and expansion and/or cost savings of LVCHO office operations
  • Ensure a clean, organized and professional office environment
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail in a timely manner
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and routing calls as appropriate
  • Provide logistical support to the Executive Director as needed
  • Assists in compiling financial, statistical data and reports as assigned
  • Performs related work as required

Special Requirements:

  • Work will be allowed full-time in office or full-time in a hybrid setting until further notice.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation readily available for use on the job.
  • Must have access to a cell phone readily available for use on the job.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for special meetings or events.

Position Qualifications:

  • Education: BS/BA Degree
  • Experience:5 years of development and management experience. Knowledge of fundraising, business planning, communications, office management and/or executive administration.
  • Grant writing experience preferred.
  • Certifications: None
  • Skills/Ability: Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills for interaction with staff, donors and others. Strong computer knowledge and familiarity with relevant software applications such as Microsoft Office software and Google Workspace programs.
