The Marjorie Luke Theatre is excited to continue our Green Film Series in 2025, presenting thought-provoking films, engaging panel discussions, and inspiring speakers—all centered on pressing environmental issues. With a focus on California, particularly the Central Coast, this series fosters awareness and dialogue about the challenges and solutions shaping our planet’s future.

Event #1 – Sunday, April 13, 2025 @ 4:00 P.M.

Film: Broke
Filmmaker: Gail Osherenko
Synopsis: Broke tells the story of the Line 901 oil pipeline rupture that spilled 140,000 gallons of crude oil onto the Gaviota Coast in the spring of 2015.
Discussion: A post-screening panel discussion featuring filmmaker Gail Osherenko.  Linda Krop, Chief Council at The Environmental Defense Center, a field representative from State Assemblyman Greg Hart’s office, and a video representation from Salud Carbajal’s office.

The series will be continuing through the year with 3 more Green Films.
