Go fearlessly toward embracing your place in the important arena of advocacy. Create relationships, understand legislation and navigate the system so you can be involved, do your part, and create relationships with public officials. Through a discussion with a nonprofit leader and a public affairs consultant, you will find simple tips that you can turn into practical steps toward understanding the way government works for YOU. For nonprofits of all sizes and missions to help understand advocacy at a local, state and national level, find resources and tools, and hear simple ideas.
ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS
Stephanie Wilson CFRE was honored as National Philanthropy Day’s 2023 Fundraiser of the Year for Santa Barbara and Ventura. She’s currently the Managing Director for Gold Coast Performing Arts Association. Stephanie has served on over 20 boards, including 20 years on public commissions, and chaired the California Alliance for Arts Education, a statewide advocacy organization. She currently serves as a Cultural Affairs Commissioner for the City of Simi Valley.
Anthony Angelini is the Director of Tourism and Government Affairs for the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce, with ten years of experience in business and public affairs. He’s a former aide to a State Senator and former Senior Field Representative and District Office Manager to a former State Assemblymember.
