Maureen “Mo” McFadden – brief bio                           Press Agent, Owner McFadden & McFadden PR

Mo has been in the PR biz for more than half her life. She gets great satisfaction from seeing stories about her clients in the news.

Originally from the Philadelphia area, where she studied dance and acting (learning grace and tenacity at the same time.) Mo traveled across the U.S. 17 times in a 44’ semi and once across Canada on Rock n’ Roll tours. She’s lived in Washington, D.C., New York City and Los Angeles. Learned her trade in Hollywood, on the editorial staff of the daily trade paper The Hollywood Reporter (83-86). Moved to Santa Barbara in 1990 with her son, Eli and shortly after opened McFadden & McFadden P.R.

Since her firm opened in 1992, McFadden has repped hundreds of arts & entertainment as well as non-profits over the years.  She’s handled press duties for four film festivals from Cannes to Ojai and NatureTrack FF.

McFadden met some of her entertainment heroes while working as Communications Director for the Lobero Theatre (92 -01) – Jonathan Winters, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and June Foray, to name a few. She’s donated her time and/or talent to help many organizations with their events across her three decades of service here in Santa Barbara.

Nature has always figured big in her life. She volunteers with SB Audubon as a raptor handler for its’ Eyes in the Sky program. Her dream to handle a bird of prey has manifested in a more than 10-year commitment to educate the public about owls, falcons and hawks in the program.  “Having those birds so close on my gloved hand and being able to study their plumage, care for them, is such a privilege. All the birds are unable to return to the wild. Sharing their stories about the species with the public is very important.”

All of my experiences are brought to play a defining role in my life and work.
