Girls Inc. of Carpinteria is once again making the holiday season brighter for local girls and families with the return of Operation Holiday Cheer, a holiday giving program presented by Cox Communications that launched in 2020 to provide gifts to local girls and their families.
“We are proud to host our 3rd Annual Operation Holiday Cheer in partnership with Cox Communications to once again spread holiday cheer for local girls and families and show them we are in their corner,” said Jamie Collins, executive director of Girls Inc. Carpinteria. “We encourage local businesses and community members looking for a way to support those in need this season to join our efforts to make a meaningful difference and ensure all families receive gifts for the holidays.”
Operation Holiday Cheer focuses on supporting families as they continue to recover from the economic hardships brought on in the wake of the pandemic. The initiative expects to serve over 125 entire families with a distribution of more than 500 gifts.
Girls Inc. of Carpinteria and Cox Communications will host a special gift giving event on Saturday, December 10 where the gifts will be presented to families, in addition to providing a light meal and special visit with Santa Claus.
The community is invited to support Operation Holiday Cheer in any of these three ways:
- Giving Tree: Pick a few items off the tree in Girls Inc.’s office at 5315 Foothill Road in Carpinteria, purchase the item(s) and bring them in by December 2.
- Fill the Box: Sign up to bring a holiday box to your business with gift tags that contain a Christmas wish. Employees can take a tag, purchase the item and return to fill the box.
- Amazon Wishlist: Purchase a gift from the organization’s Amazon Wish List, which will ship directly to Girls Inc. of Carpinteria.
