Amplify Sleep Away Camp is an award-winning music and arts summer camp for girls and gender-expansive youth in Ojai, California. Our campers and staff alike follow their dreams, try incredible new things, and gain lifelong friends and positive role models in a safe and supportive environment. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
First and foremost, Amplify staff are responsible for the supervision, safety, and well-being of campers, who range in age from 8 to 18. They generally help campers move throughout their daily schedules, from breakfast and distributing meds in the morning to supervising off-campus trips and teaching campers specialized skills like guitar, photography, screen printing, hip hop dance. In the long term, Amplify staff guide campers through valuable life skills like teamwork, empathy, body positivity, self-confidence, resilience… they’re here to encourage campers and colleagues alike to be their most authentic selves in a safe yet challenging environment full of gorgeous mountain nature and fresh air 🌄
Amplify staff work 6 days/week and have one 24-hour period (excluding weekends) free from camp responsibilities, while still upholding expectations. Daily schedules vary, so the time commitment is flexible and fluid; the average amount of hours worked is 40–45 hours/week. All staff should be able to navigate a school campus in potentially intense temperatures and may occasionally need to move/lift heavy objects; however, one can always advocate for assistance. As job duties occur at all hours of the day, core staff (i.e., every position except the night shift supervisor) may not hold a secondary job or participate in course instruction without the camp director’s permission.

PAY RANGE
$3,000–9,000, depending on position + experience; room + board is provided
