The Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) is a Christian non-profit organization that has been serving the less fortunate in Southern California through emergency and long-term rehabilitation services since 1972. RMA partners with local churches to meet the spiritual needs of the people we serve. The Lighthouse for Women & Children provides a complete continuum of care specifically tailored to the needs of homeless women and women with children by offering shelter, intervention, substance abuse recovery, counseling, case management, education, life skills development, vocational training, employment, and transitional housing.
Summary
The Operations Coordinator assists the Associate Director in the overseeing of the general operational and administrative matters (project management, inventory, maintenance, vendors, safety, etc) for Home Again. Reporting to the Associate Director, this is a full-time regular, non-exempt position and located in Northridge, CA. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime and benefits according to applicable guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operations/Facilities
Promote RMA Safety Program and in alignment with the Injury and Illness Prevention
Program (IIPP) and Smith Systems policies and procedures, model safe work practices.
Oversee and coordinate monthly training seminars for staff and clients on monthly Safety
Matrix topic.
Oversee and coordinate building safety inspections bimonthly.
Manage local contractors and vendors.
Maintain an in-house injury report file, encourage spot and near miss reports.
Keep all SDS sheets updated, OSHA posters and federal standards
Make sure the evacuation plan is posted on all doors and drills are conducted monthly.
Serve on RMA Safety Sub-Committee. Current meeting minutes
Coordinate the maintenance and physical upkeep of the Home Again facilities, including keys, logging and tracking work orders, meeting with vendors, etc.
Assist the Director and Associate Director of the shelter with their requests for projects
Oversee and coordinate Quarterly Preventative Maintenance inspections
Oversee and coordinate kitchen operations; ensuring everyone is trained on proper food preparation and kitchen safety; ServSafe Certification
Observe and report in writing any unusual activity or potentially dangerous situation.
Perform, coordinate, and oversee regular perimeter checks to ensure Home Again’s security.
Vehicles
Ensure safety and safe use of all Home Again motor vehicles.
Ensure drivers attend monthly drivers’ training
Oversee and coordinate all maintenance on all Home Again motor vehicles.
Ensure vehicle inspections are completed weekly.
Ensure and inspect all child safety seats & seat belts to comply with California & local laws.
Administrative
Ensure and verify all appropriate end of the month reports are turned in (client statistics, food share, gift-in-kind, expenses).
Provide other statistical/outcomes reports as needed.
Oversee day-to-day operation of office equipment such as copy and fax machines; order supplies and monitor effective operation; order, stock, and distribute office supplies as needed.
Coordinate all food and supply lists for Associate Director to review and approval for purchase.
Coordinate purchase and distribution of all household supplies and hygiene products.
Is responsible for assisting & developing relationships with major/mid-level donors to ensure donors are appreciated, cared for, and engaged in the work they support. The natural outgrowth of this is donors develop a personal connection and meaningful long-term partnership with our ministry.
. Assists coordinating and planning evening and weekend event as needed.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and Submit all work order requests to Head Quarters.
Tracks staff training.
Archive forms and make sure appropriate forms are always available
Assist with Home Again transportation duties as needed.

Strong organizational, project & time management skills .
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to coordinated and measure results while keeping accurate reports.

Genuine burden to care for the poor, homeless, addicted, broken-hearted, and neglected.
Must be effective in working with staff, other departments, vendors, etc.
Qualifications
Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ & be active in a local evangelical church.
Must have compatible theology with RMA core values and Statement of Faith.
2-3 years or more experience in urban and/or rescue-related ministries/position.
Certification in Office Management, Project Management experience a plus.
. IT and Social Media experience is a plus.
Valid CA driver’s license and insurable under RMA.
Bilingual a plus

Physical Demands
This position requires an extended amount of time working in an office environment.
Must be able to sit for long periods.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
Equipment
Basic office equipment, such as computers, copiers, and printers
Work Environment
This position will function to a large degree in an office & residential program environment. As a
part of normal duties this position will be in facilities with an at-risk population where errant behavior and disease risk may be present. Appropriate safety considerations will be required to avoid illness or injury.
