About Leading From Within (LFW):
Leading From Within (LFW) is a nonprofit organization serving Santa Barbara County, focused on equipping community changemakers with the tools they need to grow as leaders, collaborate effectively, and drive impactful solutions. Through our programs, we bring leaders together to enhance their individual leadership, improve their effectiveness as a team, and expand their ability to collaborate for the common good.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Community Impact Coordinator to support our Leading for Community Impact (LCI) program, based in Santa Maria. The coordinator will work closely with program co-facilitators to ensure the seamless execution of our 11-month leadership development program, which meets one day each month at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA. This is a part-time, hourly position averaging 20 hours/month, with a flexible work schedule that includes both remote work and in-person attendance at program sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and logistical support for the LCI program, ensuring smooth program operations.
- Coordinate event logistics for monthly program meetings, including mid-sized events for supporters, guest speakers, and program culminations.
- Maintain program equipment, supplies, and communications.
- Communicate effectively with program participants and LFW partners, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear, consistent engagement with all involved.
- Assist with program-related administrative functions and work to improve efficiency across program activities.
- Perform additional duties as needed, including errands or tasks related to the coordinator’s skills and interests.

- Proven experience in project management, event planning, and organizing.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
- A team-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and remain reliable.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and fluency in software tools such as Word, Excel, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
Job Details:
- Job Status: Hourly; Part-Time; 20 hours/month (average)
- Compensation: $28/hour
- Contract Length: 12-month contract with the possibility of renewal.
- Location: Remote work with occasional travel to program sessions and events in Santa Maria, CA.
Program Dates: Program Orientation (July 18, 2025); Monthly sessions throughout 2025 into 2026. (Program sessions held in Santa Maria, CA).
