Partners in Housing Solutions was established in 2015. The mission of PHS is to help people who are experiencing homelessness to secure and retain permanent housing through a network of private landlords. To date, the organization has housed over 1,200 people using a collaborative approach between landlords and social service agencies.
This is a full-time non-exempt position. The Housing Assistant supports the housing team with administrative and housing duties. They maintain files and ensure all documentation is collected, complete, and properly stored. They are responsible for data tracking in multiple databases including HMIS, documenting, note-taking, and letter drafting. Report and record participant updates weekly, attend all housing sessions, training, contractor, and team meetings. Under supervision, the Housing Assistant may be assigned cases and/or serve as a backup to the housing team as needed. Most of the work will take place in our Santa Maria office with some on the field duties. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Administering intakes, conducting VI-SPDAT, and needs assessments.
- Assisting with navigation and landlord engagement.
- Assisting participants in creating and carrying out a housing plan.
- Connecting participants with programs and resources.
- Conducting housing inspections and home visits.
- Landord-tenant mediation.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years in Human Services or a degree in a related field is preferred.
- Must have transportation to conduct job-related travel.
- Must be willing to occasionally travel throughout the county (Carpinteria-Santa Maria)
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must complete a successful background check and MVR
- Bilingual candidates are preferred but not required.
