Salary Range: $29.52 – $40.70

Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity.

Position Summary:

  • Reports to Director of Marketing and Fund Development.
  • The Fund Development Manager supports the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation’s fundraising and development efforts. This role focuses on grant writing, assisting in event coordination, assisting in donor engagement, to enhance the foundation’s capacity for securing funding and expanding community outreach.
  • This position is designated as hybrid, with a combination of on-site and remote work as determined by departmental needs.

Position Duties/Responsibility:

  • Grant Writing & Fundraising:
    • Research, write, and submit grant applications to secure funding for foundation initiatives.
    • Manage grant reporting requirements and ensure compliance with funder guidelines.
    • Identify new funding opportunities, partnerships, and sponsorships.
    • Annual fundraising goals will be determined and evaluated in collaboration with leadership during the employee’s annual performance review
    • Event Coordination & Community Engagement:
    • Support fundraising events and community engagement activities.
    • Support logistics for donor appreciation events, campaigns, and foundation-led initiatives.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance event visibility and participation.
  • Donor Relations & Stewardship:
    • Supported the maintenance of donor records and managed engagement activities through a donor database system.
    • Develop and implement donor acknowledgment strategies, including thank-you letters, impact reports, and recognition events.
    • Assist in cultivating relationships with new and existing donors to increase contributions.
  • Marketing & Communication Support:
    • Assist in creating marketing materials and content related to fundraising and development activities.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote foundation events and fundraising campaigns.
    • Support social media and email outreach efforts to engage donors and community members.
  • Administrative & Program Support:
    • Track and report on fundraising goals, donor activity, and grant application outcomes.
    • Manage sponsorship agreements and ensure deliverables are met.

Position Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, event coordination, or donor relations.
  • Experience in nonprofit development, healthcare philanthropy, or foundation work is a plus.
  • Familiarity with donor databases and fundraising software is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with a strong ability to craft compelling grant proposals.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate with a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM/donor management systems.
