OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE
We’re looking for a Family Care Coordinator to serve as an advocate and navigator providing a warm and inclusive environment while working collaboratively with families to connect them to services in a timely manner. This could be a great position for a  parent with lived experience who has navigated the mental health system and is compassionate with strong organizational skills.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Help us build a village of support for families. Develop a relationship and build trust with the family in order to act as an advocate on behalf of the parents and youth. Identify and share resources related to mental health that are applicable to the family’s needs, and address any barriers to accessibility. Cultivate partnerships and actively engage with YouthWell partners, schools, pediatricians, mental health providers, and families.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or the equivalent in experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate and work with youth, young adults, and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional nights and weekends to accommodate youth and family schedules
  • Reliable transportation, valid US driver’s license, and active insurance policy.
  • Compassionate listening skills. Knowledge of youth developmental issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex family situations and dynamics.
  • Ability to make initial assessments and use this information to make strong referrals. Understanding of the ethical and legal issues involved in the provision of clinical services.
  • Demonstrate effective professional boundaries and self-care measures.
  • Plan & Organize – experience in planning and executing tasks and managing workflow.
  • Technical Skills – comfortable with office productivity tool
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Google Drive, Docs, Spreadsheets, and Slide
  • Comfortable using Zoom and functions for meetings (set up meetings, create polls, etc)
  • Experience with Monday.com (workflow management system), is a plus but not required
  • We are looking for someone that can make a minimum of a 2 year commitment.

SALARY & HOURS

  • $25-$30/hr DOE
  • 15-40 hrs/wk depending on the individual
  • Position is in-person and included minimal driving. Occasional nights and weekends
    *This position primarily serves South Santa Barbara County (SB, Carpinteria, Goleta)
