Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center

Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center is seeking a part-time development manager to join its team this fall. The position is temporary while the regular development manager is out on maternity leave.

About: Since 1985, Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center (Hearts) has provided equine-assisted services to inspire, strengthen, and motivate children and adults with special needs in Santa Barbara County. Since its inception, Hearts has helped thousands of children and adults achieve significant positive change. With two full-time and eight part-time employees, a herd of 18 specially-trained therapy horses, and a dedicated corps of 100 volunteers, Hearts offers year-round programming to 80-100 participants each week.

Position Description: The development manager oversees all general operating fundraising efforts, including:

Follow strategic development plan outlined in development calendar

Event Planning

Direct mail appeals

Grants

* Manage grants calendar

* Oversee grant writing, reporting, and data collection

Donations

* Process all incoming donations

* Manage existing fundraising campaigns

* Knowledge of Salsa CRM/DonorPro a plus

Marketing and PR

* Manage website

* Manage editorial calendar

* Manage event marketing

* Create and send a monthly newsletter (Constant Contact)

* Manage social media accounts – Facebook, Instagram, YouTube

2-3 years of development experience preferred. Must be able to work independently. Must be highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Position to start (tentatively) November 1, 2021, and go through April 15, 2022.
