CALM is seeking a talented Clinical Supervisor to support its school-based staff in the Santa Barbara Unified School District. The role is the primary supervisor for CALM’s school-based staff and provides supervision to a minimum of three unlicensed staff, including trainees, associates and practicum students. The supervisor will meet weekly with supervisees to provide clinical and administrative oversight.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides oversight, mentoring and consultation to all staff as requested and necessary to meet program’s high standards.
Provides weekly individual and group supervision to licensed, unlicensed therapists and para-professional staff.
Creates a treatment plan with measurable and observable goals in collaboration with supervisor, client, teachers, school administrators and parents or family members.
Participates in completion of clinical assessment with clients to assess their strengths and needs.
Provides developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions for children and families in individual, group or family settings
Coordinates with other therapists, consultants, and partners to implement treatment plan, when appropriate.
Works with teachers, aides, school site staff, and other professionals in the classroom.
Coaches teachers on targeted behavior interventions.
Models appropriate interactions with children and adolescents.
Provides reflective practice groups for teachers, as needed.
Supports teachers and staff in restorative approaches.
Assists teachers in parent conferences and other meetings.
Organizes and provides trainings for teachers, administrators, school staff, and parents.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
LCSW (preferred), MFT, from an accredited university or college, with a license for a minimum of two years, or Licensed Psychologist who meet the requirements to supervise clinical staff required.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of legal, ethical and evidence based practice
2 – 3 years; experience working with complex issues surrounding children and families in a behavior health agency preferred
1 – 2 years of supervisory experience. Experience working with Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Model or Mental Health Consultation knowledge preferred.
Experience working in the nonprofit sector and training in Medi-Cal documentation standards highly desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a passion for CALM’s mission and the ability to convey that passion to others.
Strong computer knowledge, using PC, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent verbal/written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Public speaking skills and ability to network within the community.
Able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Able to work in busy environment, under pressure, without compromising accuracy, attention to detail or courtesy to staff and others.
Ability to interact with all ages and cultural backgrounds.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
