The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day fiscal operations of a work unit or a group of accounting functions; supervises and performs the most complex accounting duties, including purchasing, accounts payable, cost accounting, payroll administration, year-end audit, cash management, and accounting that requires knowledge of specialized rules and regulations.  Additionally, the Accounting Manager supports the validation of the company’s financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information in order to help achieve fiscal goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises a work unit or a group of employees in the Fiscal department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

REQUIRESBachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and two year supervisory or administrative experience. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Strong computer skills with knowledge of Accounting software (Blackbaud Financials desired); Contact Management systems; Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Valid California Driver’s license required, Certified Public Accountant license highly desirable.
