National Philanthropy Day is a special day to recognize and pay tribute to the individuals, organizations and businesses who generously give their time, talents and resources for the enrichment and benefit of our communities. This year, the AFP Santa Barbara Ventura Counties will join chapters across the country to celebrate the giving spirit and exemplary leaders of our philanthropic community.
First held locally in 1987, National Philanthropy Day recognizes the great contributions of philanthropy- and those people active in the philanthropic community who have enriched our world. It also provides an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and all that it has made possible.
The event will honor a recipient from each of the following categories: Philanthropist of the Year (Santa Barbara County), Philanthropist of the Year (Ventura County), Volunteer of the Year (Santa Barbara County), Volunteer of the Year (Ventura County), Youth in Philanthropy (Age Range 16-23), Professional Fundraiser of the Year, and Champion for Social Justice.
